Within the frame of our International Promotion Tour (supported by Dutch Performing Arts - FPK) we will perform a solo* - duration version of Sleeping Beauty on September 3 - 4 during the 10th anniversary of the Gothenburg Fringe Festival 2025. The performance will be shown under the title Thorny Rose Hedge - the title of one of the first versions of Sleeping Beauty fairy tale.

United Cowboys has re-created two ballet classics in the last three years: The Swanlake and The Nutcracker; ballets that are both originally based on the music of Tsjaikovski. These monumental productions were created by invitation at the State Theater Kassel (DE).
To round-up the Tsjaikovski’s trilogy, United Cowboys decided to create an intimate, personal yet monumental performance based on the Sleeping Beauty. Under the title Thorny Rose Hedge – History of the Times gone, United Cowboys will artistically explore the soIeness and romantic notions of a rose against the unexpected harshness of its thorns. These are contradictions and contrasts United Cowboys can and seeks to work with.
The subtitle History of the Times Gone relates to the human need to be in the moment, to reflect and to be more radical in present times.
Conor Doherty; a very experienced, talented, beautiful, strong, yet vulnerable dancer / performer, who has been connected to United Cowboys for many years, has happily accepted our invitation to become our very own Sleeping Beauty.

Another Sleeping Beauty - History of the times gone
Parktheater - Philipszaal
Eindhoven / Netherlands
September 29-30, 2025

As repertory company of Parktheater, United Cowboys is regularly invited to take over the Philipszaal of the theatre to create and present special performances. The possibilities of this multi-functional space are happily taken advantage of. The ballet, originally created for the music of Tchaikovski will be re-framed in poetic images and strong physical language, audiences most likely know from United Cowboys. Another Sleeping Beauty translates the fairy tale into this day and age: a deep-sleep in which the alternation between reality and truth will bring the viewer into another dimension. United Cowboys has re-created two classics in ballet in the last 3 years: Swanlake and The Nutcracker; ballets that both are originally based on the music of Tsjaikovski. These monumental productions - Reminition Swanlake and The Nutcracker - were created on invitation by the director dance of Tanz_Kassel of the State Theater Kassel (DE).
With Sleeping Beauty as starting point, United Cowboys finishes her trilogy around Tsjaikovski and bundles her iconic approach into an intimate, personal, yet monumental experience: Another Sleeping Beauty.
